Before the round table networking, Dagmar Bryant, Motivational Speaker & Transformational Coach was our new member pulled from the bowl and Helen Wheatley from Travel Counsellors was our regular member selected.
Being a Travel Agent looking after personal and business clients, 2021 hasn’t exactly gone smoothly in the travel industry. Helen has been involved in travel for over 30 years and this week celebrate 20 years running her business – BUT we’ve got through!
Her time is currently spent arranging memory making trips which include family holidays. Eco trips, honeymoons, villas, adventure trips, luxury large houses in the UK, sports travel, safaris etc, through to private jets and a full concierge service! Plus she has had Covid keeping her busy ensuring that clients are safe and have the correct paperwork and tests book to comply with government regulations
The world of travel has changed and client’s requests are now more about creating memories for themselves and their loved ones, from swimming with the turtles, cage diving with sharks, a private yacht, or that unique location for an engagement – it’s not all about finding a beach or a pool and vegetating for a week, although that is still favourite for many!
If you would like Helen to look at options for that perfect holiday, honeymoon, business trip or perhaps a multi centre trip across Asia or the Far East, please contact Helen, her 30 years experience will be invaluable!

Along with breakfast, Cox Events kindly supplied mince pies for all attendees. Following the break, Simon Gabbitas took to the stage for the Charity of the Quarter draw. Of the 18 charities in the hat, Beaumond House, Think Children & Newark Women’s Aid were pulled out and will be invited to speak to the club during the January meeting. At the end of that meeting, members will vote for the charity they would like to support and the one with most votes will receive a donation of £500. This is £250 from Newark Business Club and a further £250 from Newark & District Round Table. They have kindly offered to support the charity of the quarter initiative for another year.
